@madbiologist: No, I could not find a way. And thanks for the bug hint,
I marked that as a duplicate.
When is the released fix scheduled to arrive?

A similar bug is still present (at least with the Radiance theme) for
the option choice indicators in menus. There is the low contrast
situation of a white dot on a grey background. I was unable to get a
screenshot of this, but have a look at the View menu of the calculator
for an example. This
That's weird. If you switched the theme back to normal, this dot should
be black as well. Mine is.
Maybe yours are configuration problems rather than bugs. I'd then
recommend the clean install you mentioned already. Do not install the
beta on a production machine though (only if you like
Did not have branding-ubuntu, installed it, restarted. Radiance still
works fine for me. Ambiance etc. still do not.
@Kenneth: It is not about an applet. The Menu Bar applet works fine
because the white Ubuntu logo has dark background there. It is the white

@madbiologist: The Ubuntu logo and the power off icon should both be

Not that I recall (and I'm pretty good at recalling that kind of thing).
Where should I look and what should the settings be? Alternatively, I'm
planning on doing a clean install of Lucid Lynx beta 2 soon, so I'll see
what that looks like when I switch to Radiance.

@madbiologist, From the screenshot you posted above, the icon set you're
running is ubuntu-mono-dark on a light theme. Therefore, you should try
the ubuntu-mono-light icon set. Things should look a lot better. :)

@madbiologist: You can change that under System Preferences
Appearance: Theme Customize Icons: Ubuntu-Mono-Light.
Beat me to it, thanks James. :)

Same here. But Radiance is still working fine, black logo on

Could you please make a screenshot of your Menu Bar with logo and the

Some things do not react well when changing the icon theme (the weather
often stays the wrong colour until the weather itself changes). This is
a bug in the applet, not in the theme

A similar bug is still present in the GNOME »Add to Panel«-dialogue,
where the Ubuntu logo next to »Main Menu« and »Menu Bar« is white-on-
white-invisible.
This happens for all dark themes [Ambiance, DarkRoom, Dust, New Wave].
(Running latest Lucid Beta updates.)
** Attachment added:
The issue mentioned in comment 12 is also present when using the
Radiance theme.

@madbiologist: For me it works fine with Radiance because the logo is

Though you have to close and reopen the »Add to Panel«-dialogue to let
it change if you are switching themes live.

The correct package for this bug is ubuntu-mono, as this is where the
icons for the login screen actually reside at the moment. I have
attached a suggestion for replacement icons which are the existing icons
recoloured using the same dark grey colour from the Radiance theme
icons. Note that if you
