Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. It looks like the trouble is due
to two applets not working properly (the black boxes with the red symbol
inside), which appear to be the indicator-applet-session applet and
something else (not sure what the one on the left is). Could you please
let us know
When there isn't corruption, clicking on the first icon makes to appear
a menu with the Preferences, About and Take a break now options.
Clicking on the second opens Empathy.
When there's corruption, I don't know for sure since I don't know how to
reproduce the bug, which happens time to time.
