[Bug 570525] Re: When inserting a blank disk, menu is not convenient

2012-06-12 Thread Chris Wilson
This is still an issue in 12.04. I think a simple solution would be to:

1) Have the Open folder option open Nautilus.
2) Add an option to the Default Application list for CD/DVD burning and have
the Open with CD/DVD creator open that application

[Bug 570525] Re: When inserting a blank disk, menu is not convenient

2011-08-07 Thread Timothy Fridey
You should report this upstream at: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/

Also you should report bugs individually e.g.

Bug 1: The remaining free space when adding files cannot be seen.

Bug 2: Menu options are not convenient

[Bug 570525] Re: When inserting a blank disk, menu is not convenient

2011-05-22 Thread YannUbuntu
Still valid in Maverick and Natty ...

** Changed in: brasero (Ubuntu)
   Status: Incomplete = New

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: brasero

- In Lucid, when inserting a blank disk:
- - Open the folder and Open with CD/DVD creator are exactly the same.
- - we can not see the remaining free space when adding files, and it is
impossible to burn a CD image.
+ In Lucid, Maverick and Natty , when inserting a blank disk:
+ - Open the folder and Open with CD/DVD creator are exactly the same.
+ - we can not see the remaining free space when adding files, and it is
impossible to burn a CD image.

  See screenshot.

First, Open the folder and Open with CD/DVD creator should be
merged. (remove one of the 2)

Concerning the rest, we can either improve CD/DVD creator, or propose
  Brasero in the menu.

If we propose Brasero when inserting a blank disk, I see 2 ways of doing
  it:

  1) when inserting a blank CD, the menu entry proposes :
  - Do nothing
  - Open the folder (which is same as Open CD/DVD creator)
  - Open Brasero (main menu, as in attached screenshot)
  - Open with another application

  2) when inserting a blank CD, the menu entry proposes :
  - Do nothing
  - Open the folder (which is same as Open CD/DVD creator)
  - Burn data (Open Brasero data project)
  - Burn music (Open Brasero music project)
  - Burn video (Open Brasero video project)
  - Burn an image (Open Brasero image project)
  - Copy a disk (Open Brasero disk copy project)
  - Open with another application
