Yes, this was a one way (nonsense) decision. With each release, we randomly select 2 or 3 features to remove, just to annoy people. Also, we will no longer use the letter u or the number 7 in any part of the user interface. The use of the letter q is also under review. If any of this is a problem for you, you can try upgrading to gThumb 2.12.1-3, available here: https://launchpad.net/~webupd8team/+archive/gthumb More seriously, as a stable release, 2.12.1-3 does include the resizing tool. That's very good news Mike. I feel more relax now. I did not want to look for another s/w because this one is just perfect for me (after this bug removal!!). I don't actually use Ubuntu or that 3rd-party ppa, so I can't really help you. Try asking on the Ubuntu forums.
