Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution
NOTE -- These symptoms might be related to those in bug #597087 "... full stop ..." I have contacts with stored email addresses that look like {quotes included} "lastname, firstname" <something@some.domain>. During Compose new message, I can type any part of these address strings into TO: or CC: or BCC: and Evolution will suggest a contact email address that has matching parts. This much usually works. Once I select an address from those suggested, I use TAB to move to the next field and Evolution expands what I typed with the stored email address. Here, I routinely get a mangled string instead of what is stored. The mangled string has space characters or punctuation where they don't belong. These characters might appear in either the string outside of brackets "mangled name" <okay@address> -- or inside the brackets "okay name" <mangled@address> -- or both. Another aspect of this problem involves my efforts to edit and correct the mangled address strings. When I make corrections, I often get different forms of mangled address strings -- again with spaces and punctuation.
