can the next update perhaphs have a list of backup websites to fetch lyrics
from?so that if the first doesnt respond as seems to have happened to me, the
plugin will still work
i would do it my self but i dont know how=[
i am running updated 7.04 and latest rhythmbox version, i tried

Emin, Dano, why do you comment on that bug? Do you get the same
NameError: global name '_' is not defined error? A website not
responding seems a different problem

About the only useful thing I can think of is if they run it from a terminal
and see whether a could not import gettext warning is emitted (no -d needed).
If so, I'll need to add some code to write out more a extensive error report;
if not, I'm basically out of ideas.

What locale do you use. Do you have a custom installation of python?

The locale is LANG=ro_RO.UTF-8 .
The system is a fairly stock Ubuntu Edgy, so no custom python installed.
I compiled RB HEAD, and get the following messages on the console:
