This functionality works pretty well on the i386 side, i use it very
often on my laptops.

Install totem and phyton-coherence
Launch totem,  enter plgugin menu and click X upnp/dlna plugin

Now totem goes to a freeze for around 30s, then a dialog appears: Plugin 
»Coherence DLNA/UPnP-Client« konnte nicht aktiviert werden
