This problem has been fixed in gcalctool version 6.2.0, the version included in
Ubuntu Oneiric Release, so I am setting it to Fix Released.

Thank you for your bug report. I can confirm gcalctool is using "degree
Kelvin" but "K" instead of "°K" would be correct.
BTW: The German translation file has the following comment, stating that the
original string is "nonsense" ;-)
