https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/oneiric/+source/casper/+bug/819624 I was unable to set automatic login at the install stage. I've installed Ubuntu 11.10 alpha 3 successfully but if I go to user accounts and try to set automatic login, the option doesn't stick. I set it to Automatic login , ON and then exit the program, reopen user settings to see that Automatic login is OFF again ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: gnome-control-center 1:3.1.4-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-7.9-generic 3.0.0 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-7-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri Aug 5 22:24:31 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Alpha amd64 (20110803.1) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_AU:en LANG=en_AU.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-control-center UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug oneiric running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/821440 Title: cannot set automatic login through system settings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/821440/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
