I think that, You need to report a new bug, because You have a different
version of EOG (3.2.1 vs 3.4.1) and also Ubuntu (11.10 vs 12.04).
Actually, my Ubuntu installation (11.10) haven't this problem.

the bug? That's likely xorg and the driver hitting a bug
