was solved after I installed tetex-base, tetex-bin, and tetex-extra (as
suggested in the comments for Bug #42410).
However evince-thumbnailer still does not generate a thumbnail for .dvi
files, but I can live with that:)

the attached .dvi file. Before installing these packages, evince used to
say DVI document has incorrect format when I was trying to open *any*

time to determine

It's low priority for the distribution, because that's only feature, of
one application and not one of the most used daily by people. Setting it
to medium would mean it's fairly annoying to most of users in their

After some more playing around, I discovered that the timeout value
of 0 in gpilotd-control-applet was causing gpilot to hang at the end
of the sync. I changed that timeout to 4 seconds and now gpilotd
can perform multiple syncs without having to be killed and restarted.

Since upgrading to the Dapper Drake, the random screen saver feature has
always been locked on one specific screensaver, the one called Xylap.
(Actually, I'd rather remove all of the screen savers and just use a
power saver, but I haven't gotten to that level yet... It seems
I'm getting this problem on Edgy, running pure GNOME. Adding fsset ext3
notify to the bottom of /etc/gamin/gaminrc also fixed it for me.
Alacarte and gnome-panel both set this off.

2. Right click the CD icon on the desktop

A progress bar will appear with the explanation Writing data. This is

Tonight I tested a full restore of my palm device. First I synced it with
gnome-pilot, which worked correctly from the GUI. Next I cleared
the memory on the device. The restore results
were disappointing. The restore began properly, then the progress
bars started flashing back and forth
This bug is still present, it doesn't seem to interest upsream authors :(
I can reproduce this 100% when viewing /var/log/syslog on the system log
and executing /etc/cron.daily/sysklogd.
