[Bug 67730] Usability bug - new login

2006-10-23 Thread Kirsten Watson
Public bug reported: I just created an account for my son on my laptop, running Edubuntu 6.06. No problems there - it's a reasonably intuitive process. However, when I tried to find a new login screen for him to log in, I could not; I tried systemadministration and generally peered in all the

[Bug 67730] Re: Usability bug - new login

2006-10-23 Thread Colin Watson
Part of the problem seems to be that Quit just isn't a great name for this. Out of six options I see on my laptop (log out, lock screen, switch user, suspend, restart, shut down), only three are unambiguously quit-type options (log out, restart, shut down), lock screen and suspend are on the edge,

[Bug 66034] Re: Cannot run gdmsetup

2006-10-23 Thread Adriano Varoli Piazza
After the comments in the upstream bug, this seems to be caused because GDM is started too early by init, so a possible solution is going to /etc/rc2.d/ and changing S13gdm to, say, S21gdm . It's worth a try, so I'll post more about it in a reboot. -- Cannot run gdmsetup
