Dangit... Now I am back to the original problem I had, ie when right
clicking on the top of the window frame to... say... move the window to
another desktop, both monitors cycle through all the desktops. This is
right after the upgrade to the -15 kernel and I didn't see the nvidia

2.16.1, don't know whether the drawer has its own version number and how

Well, it happened again, and after the panel froze I killed bonobo-
activation-server. It didn't do anything, though; the panel still was
dead (as was metacity, by the way!). Also, since it's not part of the
session config, the bonobo server did not restart, either.

This doesn't look like a bug in alacarte. The .desktop/.directory file is
created correctly in $HOME/.local/share/applications or desktop-directories
when you rename an entry. However the change is not picked up by gnome-panel.
A recompiled gnome-panel without any patches doesn't have this bug.
As of today's live CDs with the new langpacks, the icon is now
translated, for the languages we ship on the CDs.

Why make it such complicated like copying files to another partition. I
think Prompt for empty trash on unmount (Ubuntu: #12893) is a great
idea for removal medias. The only missing thing is that Gnome Trash
should show all MEDIA/.Trash-$USER files so that files could be cleared
on static medias
Great idea but one problem. I am using ntfs-3g and gnome moves all removed
files to the usual trash position but since the NTFS partition is on my
internal hard disk and umounted only on shutdown I never got this trash clear
message. The trash directory consists 15 GB on my hard disk.

gnome-panel's gnome-desktop-item-edit only changes Name[en] and etc

Ok, having a directory which is owned by root (or !you) and has a mode
of 700 (ie. you can't access it) makes it fail. For me it was .aptitude,
all regular files made it prompt an error (you don't have access to
this file), so it should do the same for directories too.
