When a user logs out of the first seat on a multiseat configuration the second
user session locks up with X consuming 100% CPU. Mouse and keyboard are
unresponsive, kill -15 does not work, only kill -9

yesterday after system disk failure, I reinstalled my Debian box. The default
enviroment was gdm and gnome. So I proceeded to add some user-accounts. After
this and closing the user administration tool rebooted the system to make a

I think I have a similar problem with rhythmbox in Gutsy.
Rhythmbox contains songs in its library from a mounted NFS share.
Whenever I start Rhythmbox it is scanning all songs, and I can see them

Does this happens while desktop effects are activated or also when you have
it disabled.
and when you say you have 4 workspaces, do you used to have that many

I came across this bug post while trying to find out what exactly the
User Folders Update service does. As it still has No Description after
installing Gutsy from the release version from, 10/18/07, I am still
wondering what it does.

It was an error on a translated string, this bug affects upstream too
and it's 487503 in GNOME's Bugzilla.
The string has been corrected today in Launchpad (it was #453) and with
a new langpack everything should work fine, tonight I'm going to pass a
patch upstream too.

My gconf had both of the keys set to true when I checked them -- but I
did not get new mail notification until I enabled the plugin.
I then disabled the plugin, and bounced Evo. The gconf keys were still
set, and the plugin still disabled -- but I did not get any new mail
notification anymore.
I am also rejecting the notification-daemon affects, since this
really does not seem to be related to n-d.

the ideal solution would be to fix the kernel module to load
automatically on hardware which requires it (through modaliases). If
this is not possible, we need a recipe how to detect when to load the
module. In that case it should be done in an init script or an udev
rule.

takes a good 45 seconds, but all logoffs and logons after that come up
very quickly. I have the Integrated video Intel GM965 and am NOT using

There is no Ubuntu theme with dark background in the theme package that
is installed by default.
There are the special high contrast themes that do not look well on
hardware that provides sufficient contrast, and there is the Darklooks
Kloudy try using CONCURRENCY=shell and report if the HAL-Problem
reoccurs. I would be interested in the outcome :)

I have these applets/object on the top panel in gnome (counted from left side):
menu bar, network monitor, Netspeed, system monitor, sensors-applet,

Having the exact same problem here on Gutsy with PDF's generated through
a Ruby app. Other pdfs print fine.

Totem-gstreamer: Aspect ratio not correctly detected
I modified the Darklooks theme to go better with the other brown Ubuntu
stuff.
The theme could probably use some more tuning but I tried to use it and
there should be no obvious errors like invisible text or selections.

I can also verify, on a new Gutsy AMD64 install with all updates applied
as of 2007/10/29, Firefox will crash semi-instantly (you can see the
window appear, and then close out, with a Segmentation fault (core
dumped) message on the console.

Synaptic is
the calendar appointments mysteriously reappears. Too late this time -
evolutions calendar program is way too buggy to be put to use for
anything but as a testing/debugging case. It's Google Calendar from now
on. But if anyone is willing to look at the bug in the future I have
posted all the info
