@Guy Taylor, as a workaround you can use the pavucontrol application, available in the repositories as the pavucontrol package. @Seb128, looking from the stack trace, it does not look like PulseAudio's client API is involved in the infinite recursion. I'm marking this as invalid for PulseAudio.
