The whole point is that this file (resource file generated by Visual
C++) does not appear to contain any invalid character.
After opening file test.rc with Windows' Notepad and removing 'END' at
line 387, then saving file, gedit can open file without any problem.
After re-adding 'END' at line 387

oddly this happened for me while trying to take a screenshot to report a
different bug. screenshot crashed out and I ended up here... Doesn't
seem relevant unless it's because I was in the process of selecting an
area to grab and that intersected nautilus/appmenu.

turn off the wireless and then shutdown , it works fine. Also sudo
poweroff also works for me.

Here is the SAME file with only a few characters removed in one of the
strings. And gedit opens it perfectly!
So definetely a bug in gedit when dealing with RawText binary files.

With on the fly disabled there is no copying cd option anymore, at least which
works.
Perhaps you could make another patch so that copying cd is routed via the slow
method. It would still be far better than the current corrupted copy cd option.

Hi, I have similar bug. I am running an ASUS ep121 slate with intel core i5.
2nd mouse click was working a while ago. I had not used it for a while as I was
using the slate as a desktop with keybousrd mouse, so I don't know how long
ago this bug started to occur. But the 2ndary mouse click now
