At the time of reporting my system was in a unsupportable half-upgraded state between Yakkety and Zesty. Obviously given that it's hard to expect stability, but I've since fixed that and am running a proper Zesty environment (with Evolution 3.22.6-1ubuntu1). I and am still seeing the issue. --
