But I don't use kerberos, I use winbind to have domain membership
authentication! smbclient seems to works perfectly with cached
credential if I remove the optional parameter --kerberos... but why gvfs
doesn't it?

Based on the 'lsof' command, I suspect the issue might be related to
GDM. Well, certainly it's not related to the screensaver.

This *may* be an nvidia-specific problem, but the RSS of gnome-shell on
my system grows without limit (over a couple of hours it's increased
past 10G).
At the same time, gnome-shell appears to become progressively less
responsive.
Restarting gnome-shell (via restart) drops
