(comment #17) Downgrading and putting to unhold libmutter package solved

Thank you again @konradmb!

@Dimitri desktop isn't working on it at this point, unsure how to figure
out where the issue is exactly but it sounds like it could be either
dbus or systemd which are owned by foundations

I confirm this on Ubuntu Mate 20.04.1. Desktop is visible for a second
before the lockscreen when I resume from power menu >> suspend or from
systemctl suspend but if I resume after suspending by closing the lid on
my Dell XPS 13 9360 the desktop is not visible before the lockscreen.

It's possible the problem is actually GTK (which sits between Mutter and
the apps) only supporting integer scales.

I don't think we will ever support that. Aside from anything else, even
if gnome-control-center did successfully change a setting, it would not
be remembered in the next Fvwm session.
A simple solution is for you to configure your mouse from a Terminal
window:
xinput
xinput list-props N
Hi Daniel, yes I was going to resort to that if necessary. Thanks!
One comment though, I found that the setting was not even saved before I
switched to Fvwm.
I had to redo the mouse speed each time I logged into an Ubuntu session.

Yes, please do provide a log of the problem happening that doesn't
contain "ubuntu-appindicators".
Please also try moving or removing this whole directory in case the
cause is some other extension:

Anything you want run automatically on login, try putting it in a script
called:

yes I know that. I'm talking about gnome-control-center not saving the
settings.

I would like to use gnome control center from Fvwm window manager. But
the mouse speed does not respond at all to what I set unless I am
running it from the default ubuntu window manager. I tried running
gnome control center using different XDG environment variables as
Also may be of interest: if I set either laptop or external monitor to a

That's unexpected, but also not important to Fvwm. If you want to
discuss that problem about Ubuntu Gnome sessions only, then please open
a new bug.

I have the same issue. I do have dropbox installed though. But doesn't
look like it is because of dropbox.

Hi All,
I'd confirmed this issue is be fixed by gdm3 3.36.3-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 and
passed the 30 times reboot stress test by using stress/reboot_30 from
checkbox.
The environment:
kernel: 5.4.0-47-generic
gdm3: 3.36.3-0ubuntu0.20.04.1
nvidia-driver-440: 440.100-0ubuntu0.20.04.1
GPU: VGA
I've a similar issue on Groovy. I got it 2 days in a row after my daily package
update.
Reverting the machine to a state before the upgrade and re-upgrading the same
packages doesn't reproduce the issue. However, when it worked with the same
package update the message "Unexpected error response
I decided to English during the installation.
I think I was connected to the Internet but I'm not sure.
Yes. It worked when I installed the locale.

I think this might happen because the screen is off at 6am. So any
attempt to change the gamma ramps (turn off night light) might fail and
not be reattempted. That would be easy enough to fix if it was all in
the gnome-shell process, but I suspect some of it is happening in the

I recently find that the bug occured on my ubuntu may because of IBUS, a
