I think I found the workaround to this.
1. Open Nautilus
- Places - Home
2. Then, Edit - Preferences
3. Choose the Media tab
4. Choose the appropriate action next to the Music Player item in the Media
Handling session. I chose Do Nothing, personally.

I can confirm this bug. I have Rhythmbox's Portable Media Player plugin

I also stopped Rhythmbox before it imported all the songs. I hope that

I can confirm that the delay aspect of this drawer bug still is
affecting Hardy Heron. I have Normal Visual Effects checked (compiz-

This appears like it is related to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/64096 as the
problem seems to be that Rhythmbox's podcast feed parser isn't correctly
handling redirects that use a question mark (?) in them.

I don't believe that there is currently an option to change the cursor
to a vertical line. You can turn off the blinking of the block cursor
within the profile preferences, however.
Not sure if that helps or not.

I partially agree.
This drawer delay has been around FOREVER and no movement whatsoever
has been made on it. It seems as if the bug is well documented with
various cases where the behavior does and does not appear (seems to be
tied to compiz as the drawers behave as expected when compiz is turned
This is actually really sad.
It seems like the nature of the problem is well understood. There is a
ton of confirmation. The exact area that needs to be fixed has been
identified, but the responsible parties just point fingers at each
other.

I'm having this exact same problem.
Logging in with gnome classic or gnome classic no effects starts with an
ambience themed top panel, but that appears to crash and is replaced
with a seeming default gnome theme. However the ambience theme appears
to stay with some, but not all window borders.
I can' consistently make this happen, but I notice it most often when I
have a Nautilus file browsing window open and then insert a USB device
(my Sansa Fuze Clip MP3 player) and then try to open it from the Unity
dock.
If I do this, my original Nautilus window, that was open before, still
