So, I've freshly installed the release version of Xubuntu 18.04 and
applied updates, and now Gnome-Mines uninstalls as expected.
However, the "SGT Puzzles Collection" which came bundled with Xubuntu
still refuses to uninstall properly. Gnome Software says it's removed,
yet that cluster of games
Hi Simon,
I don't understand your response - I saw this bug on the freshest daily
build that I downloaded less than 24hours ago. Unless you mean that a
patch has been submitted / implemented since then?
Thanks,
Ken.

Jeremy, it seems that this issue has already been reported upstream, but the
issue has been closed and I don't yet know how to reopen it:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/issues/1
I'd edit the desktop.in.in files directly myself, but am a newcomer to
the process for doing so.

Thanks for your replies. As per Daniel's suggestion, I've run apport, &
have updated the bug title and description.
I'll also lodge a bug report upstream as Jeremy suggests, and report

This issue has been partially improved in the overnight update, but

** Affects: gnome-software (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
I've just tried to plug in 3 known-working USB sticks into this UB daily
build, with content on the USB sticks that I access from other *buntu
machines, and with each stick I got the same result - "unable to access
- read-only file system".
So that's a pretty significant bug, I'd say.
Thanks,
