Free space issue is critical to lots of users, because gdm doesn't offer an
userfriendly solution for user if there are no free space.
I'm suggesting improved solution for this bug, based on solutions, mentioned in
gnome bug 339229:

Hi, Ubuntu developers, gnome-mount is already in Ubuntu, can we now
allow mounting hard disk partitions with a gksudo mount wrapper ?
Btw, look how many there are support tickets, related to this bug (I

I can confirm this critical and very annoying bug.
It seems this problem started to be visible after gnome-mount was be
integrated into Ubuntu (also can be caused because of hal/libhal

This bug exists in all Ubuntu versions I've tested (7.04-8.04) and it's a
really important issue for totem-xine users as sound is broken in videos,

Problem with burning large CD/DVD images can be solved by disabling md5sum and
md5sum-file plugins (see Edit-Plugins in Brasero).

700 mb .iso files, for example
Please test if this bug isn't a duplicate of of bug #220247 (test if
burning does start correctly after disabling md5sum and md5sum-file
plugins) and if not - please attach brasero session.log file to this
bugreport.
