Public bug reported:
This affects intrepid
When pausing or stopping a song, located on a smb share and then
resuming it a short while after, rhythmbox skips the current + 1 to 5
songs and shows the missing icon for those. From the looks of it I
would assume a timeout problem somewhere.
I'm
Sebastian, as I wrote, the problem accures with current intrepid ibex.
The Songs are located on a samba fileshare.
Import gives the option to use network drives (using gvfs-smb)
The problem is reproduceable, however it occures only if a certain amount of
time (I would say 15 to 30 Minutes) have
Bug still applies also to jaunty version 2.26.0-0ubuntu3 of epiphany.
IMHO there are only 2 ways out of this:
a) fix it in the deb package with a patch by the maintainer
b) close this bug as wontfix ( - it's what upstream did because of the change
to webkit in next release - hopefully)

I do see the problem when pausing and continuing after a while, but
Gnome Bug 535119 (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=535119)
describes problems when seeking through a mp3 file that is played over
the network from a cifs volume.
This seems to be a different bug, but could be related.
I'll have a look into it at the weekend. But I haven't seen this bug for
at least a week.

I'm sorry, the bug is gone and I don't know what fixed it...
Just tried multiple calendars with dashes and space and so on.
This bug is either fixed by an update in dependency that has been
updated or murphy had something to do with it. I'll set it to fixed.

Do you also get similar behaviour in totem or other GStreamer applications?
No, happens only with rhythmbox so far.
Output from 'rhythmbox -D player' would be helpful.
Will do the debug soon

Disabling 3d accelration and using gnome classic doesn't affect the bug. It's

Sabastien,
actually I don't see the ubuntu version of online-accounts to be
superior.
Gnome-online-accounts supports
- disabling features I don't want (i.e. choose to not have certain features -
google chat, or mail or documents or whatever)
- Exchange Support through evolution-ews
- Gnome
I didn't expect to need a ppa already in the development cycle. That's kind of
sad.
Myself and probably the fine people that find this bug report might be
interested in the backgrounds.
So for ease of mind would you be willing to provide?
Many thanks in advance.

To manage notifications about this bug go to:
I am marking this Bug as invalid myself, because gnome-vfs is no longer used
and replaced by gvfs
Also I do not longer use the setup described so I cannot tell at the moment if
this is still a problem.
Keepalive could be a good hint though. Thanks to everyone who worked on
this.
** Changed in:
Looks pretty much like it is going to become a wontfix bug because the
bug at bugs.gnome.org is already marked obsolete and is therefore not
being worked on anymore.
Maybe someone wants to try it again with oneiric before it's stable or
even better before gnome 3.2 is released?
