I can confirm the manual fix does work but still in other application
like tomboy where you cant select the dictionary the problem still
persists

same problem here.
After i upgraded to karmic i instantly got this message. The disc is only 22.3
days powered on.

while log in, the message One or more disks are failing apears, but RAID1
disks seem to be OK

just did a surface scan with hddscan from windows and the disc has no
bad sectors. Although some of the ata smart info are signed with a
warning sign.
