I'm also seeing this problem. In my experience, if I kill and restart
the gnome-screensaver process, things start working normally.
I haven't seen that the screen automatically locks without killing and
restarting the process.

gnome-screensaver does not blank screen in Jaunty beta
I have gathered the attached log file. It appears that gnome-mplayer is
preventing gnome-screensaver from activating. Can someone confirm,
please? I'm not certain if I have the ability to change gnome-mplayer's
actions regarding the screensaver.
** Attachment added: gs.log.bz2
OK. It's possible that this is intended behavior w/ gmplayer. Thank-
you.

I don't get prompted to clear the trash at unmount... Still getting a

Shouldn't put .Trash-$USER on removable devices
It is definitely not a fresh user. The user ID that I've been using has
been around for a while. (Are you thinking maybe some legacy
configuration settings are causing this?)
Also, the install of 10.04 was performed via do-release-upgrade. Prior
to that, I believe 9.04 was the version that I
I get the same error when starting seahorse, and I'm not using password-

My fault!! My PAM configuration was incorrect. Once I corrected PAM,
all began to work properly. Sorry for any confusion.

Binary package hint: gdm
Upgrading GDM removes customized GDM configuration.
This configuration is now held in ~gdm/.gconf. After upgrading the gdm
package, the ~gdm/.gconf directory is empty. Since the new gdm utilizes

Normally the configuration is held in $HOME/.gconf, but apparently is
being held somewhere different... Sorry for those details being wrong.
In any case, the configuration was reset upon an upgrade of gdm.

Upgrading GDM wipes customized configuration
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/491578
I ran the following commands to customize my GDM config:
#
# turn off GDM user list
sudo -u gdm gconftool-2 --set --type boolean
/apps/gdm/simple-greeter/disable_user_list true
#
# enable GDM banner
sudo -u gdm gconftool-2 --set --type boolean
/apps/gdm/simple-greeter/banner_message_enable
GDM was just upgraded again. I took the opportunity to grab a before-
and-after picture of a 'gconftool-2 --dump /'. I'll attach those to the
bug report.

I just experienced the same bug with version 2.28.1.
I ended up having to remove .cmeta, .ibex.index, and .ibex.index.data
files from directories under $HOME/.evolution.

I can also confirm this bug still exists in Jaunty.
I was transferring a large file via Nautilus and seeing speeds that
maxed out at 1.5MB/s. I then resorted to command-line sftp and am
seeing speeds of 10.8MB/s.
