No, it is not. This bug is about incompatibility with servers that
negotiate weak password encryption for connections, and it has been
worked around by a change to the default settings for samba in Ubuntu
8.04. If your problem was

Sorry, this error output only happened on my test system because I had a
no-password test user, so password was null. Changing this, I get no
errors on the console and I also don't get any updates to /etc/passwd
and /etc/shadow.
So the bug lies elsewhere.

Clock Preferences window always shows up on the first desktop
regardless of which desktop I was on when launching it, and the window
is below other windows (or minimized,

In some cases (such as bug #199582), one may wish to pick a location for
weather and specify a different timezone than the one autopopulated by
the location tool. In that case, gnome-panel will override the location
code used for weather
The attached patch fixes this issue for me; clicking 'edit' for a
location now no longer corrupts the weather code value.
