Dear Pedro,
Thank you for replying to me. As you have probably guessed I am new to
Ubuntu and in fact Linux. Up until 4 weeks ago I have only ever used
Windows and IBM As400's. I have never logged a bug for an open source
operating system before but I have logged plenty for proprietary systems

Ubuntu and in fact Linux. Up until 4 weeks ago I have only ever used
Windows and IBM As400's. I have never logged a bug for an open source
operating system before but I have logged plenty for proprietary systems
like the AS400.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evolution
I have 2 pop3 email accounts configured to automatically check email every 10
minutes. When Evolution starts I get this error message for each pop3 account
prompting for the password.
Unable to connect to POP server pop3.iprimus.com.au.
I too am getting this bug which I logged as bug # 158693 then I found
this bug on the forum so so marked mine as a duplicate of this.
Apart from exiting Evolution in a folder other than InBox, I also found
that by unticking the check box to automatically check email every xx
minutes in the pop3

Sorry I should have mentioned that if I un-tick the check box which
automatically checks email on any one of the pop3 accounts and manually
send/receive Evolution works fine.

Ping doesn't work where the same ping in a terminal does.

Same problem here (64 bit 12.10 3.5.0-24-generic). Copying files from a
Windows 2008r2 server. I can happily copy down 1 x large 4GB iso file
(and I get good copy speeds ~40MB/s) but it stalls when copying down a
directory containing 216 items about 416MB.

Just upgraded to quantal-proposed gvfs version 1.14.2-0ubuntu0.1 and
problem persists in Nautilus and also PCManFM. Trying some work-arounds.
PyNeighborhood wont even mount a cifs share so forget this.
