For me, I think the updated Ubiquity fixed this error.
The installer now completes and I no longer get this crash, using daily-
live dated Mar29th, and again on Mar31st.

I have splash commented out so I can see the text output and know where the
last message fails.
I only removed splash AFTER I started having the issue at hand.

Ok quiet is the one that silences the boot up messages. I put
splash back but it made no difference.
BTW- Even with splash removed my VT is still VT7 as usual, and not VT1 l.

Termina,
I'm using Intel i865 integrated video. I noticed on bug #518352 that it was
suggested if using splash and the problem reoccurs then to open another bug
report. If you do then let me know I will add
Aislerot Solitaire - dragging cards causes ghosting effect
I first noticed the above condition.
Checking rhythmbox , I don't have any noticeable effects on playing
music, but with rhythmbox opened it is making the cpu% jump way up.
From 5% to 66%.

after upgrade to 2.19.5-1ubuntu3
Matt,
The problem is there no 2.19.5-1ubuntu2 to downgrade to. After issuing
the command:
apt-cache showpkg gtk2-engines-pixbuf
The Provides only has the current version.
Provides:
2.19.5-1ubuntu3 -

From post#13 ,Sebastien Bacher - The update doesn't fix the issue
there, reopening Thanks!
It didn't fix my issue either, Aislerot Solitaire ghosting, from
post#4.
I ran the 'gtkperf' test. It finished in Total time: 27.14. Brought
up a gui and did its thing, but so what? What's that prove?
I downloaded the binaries and move them to /var/cache/apt/archives, but I
couldn't downgrade.
I still get the:
Provides:
2.19.5-1ubuntu3 -
Using:
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-pixbuf=2.19.5-1ubuntu2
I get:
E: Version '2.19.5-1ubuntu2' for 'gtk2-engines-pixbuf' was not found

the
It appears that 2.19.5-1ubuntu5 fixed the client-side-decorations of
ghosting effects.
Also Rhythmbox is now under control.
Everything that I had issues with, including Plymouth, apparently have
been fixed with todays daily-live.

We still have this white border, when renaming a file or folder on the
desktop.
Use 'nautilus -q' to extinguish it.

This problem occurs both using Ubuntu 13.10 Unity and Ubuntu-gnome 13.10
When I installed nvidia-304 proprietary program it doesn't happen.
So the bottom line is nouveau is the problem area and
