Thanks for the bug. The description misses detailed steps to reproduce,
but I made it happen like this.
$ gnome-software --gapplication-service --verbose
# wait for it to settle down
In another terminal
$ gnome-software
# same
Then in the gnome-software window, type characters. It
bug #1713249 report a similar error from an user trying to install
gnome-tweaks
