I've just upgraded to 11.10 and this issue has not been fixed. It is very easy to replicate: 1. Open geedit from Unity 2. Open a text file by double clicking on it in file manager 3. Note that the text file has not opened in the gedit instance opened from Unity. -- You received this bug

I also find it to be very annoying that a new instance of gedit is opened whenever I open another file by double clicking or right clicking on it. I want all text files to open in the same instance. Clearly some people an instance per file though eg.
