Re: [Bug 483698] Re: AisleRiot spider game slows down then it aborts causing user to re log-in.

2009-12-22 Thread J E Moren
Bob Ray, I have found that other AisleRiot games also crash.
When dragging card(s) begins to slow I've tried bringing up an
app from the sys tray and it is very slow to change, continuing
to switch apps finally gets back to normal speed I can
continue with Spider till card movement slows down again. Since
the last updates the crash may happen soon after the first
slowing is noticed. I tried completely removing AisleRiot
re-installing with no change in behavior. My Lucid Alpha
installation on a dell laptop does not seem to have this
problem. Joe

times, I can tell the crash is coming because the card I'm moving starts
to slow down, and even stopping the mouse does not prevent the crash.
I've got Karmic Koala on several different machines and it does the same
thing on all of them. So far, it's been little more than an annoyance,
but I've started saving my work before taking a break.

Have you found any work around??

I've also checked other Aisleriot games and found the same thing. The
majority of the machines I use have the Intel chipset similar to the one
integrated into the Atom N280. (I'd have to check to see what chipset
is in my old Compaq laptop...) Any similarities that can be tracked to
the video chipsets? It also doesn't seem to be related to the number of
programs or windows that are open, so I don't immediately suspect a
memory shortage.
