I think when interfaces are highlighted as needing higher interface stability, but don't fall neatly into the current API/ABI Desktop/Platform rules, that the module maintainer should be encouraged (at least) or required to document the interface stability issue in the manpage or other module doc

(last rant for today...) So, the stock ticker applet has been replaced by a new all-shiny python incarnation. Has any thought been given to preserving the user configuration ? I see some thought has been given to it, since it installs a bonobo server file which replaces the old stock ticker apple
