And in case you have errors about locales, try:
alias svn=LANG=C svn
in your .bashrc, but I have heard that the problems with locales are gone now.

As of svn 1.3.2, there are locale errors.

It should be available in whatever distro you are using.
There's a similar script that comes with jhbuild, FWIW.
