KDE with Mandriva is working on adaptation of semantic technologies[1]
on desktop. Are there any similar efforts going on in the GNOME world?

- perfectly the lib should just rely on glib and
gobject and maybe some optional SSL support. And then - UNIX-only.
That's not the way.

to look at. Nice to know about them. I think the
blessed networking library would be awesome, but currently it is
probably impossible.

a bit busy.
Is the code available somewhere in the wild? It looks like the thing I'm
looking for. Starting from the low-level and working your way through
the higher levels.
