No problems, GNOME having read-only mirrors can be useful to people.
Just make sure there's an easy way to opt out. For example, I wouldn't
want any of my code automatically uploaded to GitHub. I think every
maintainer should have the right to cancel mirroring for their module.

Hey Jasper,
Excellent questions. I suggest module maintainers decide together on
each module, and other people can't control the mirroring in their name.
You can suggest all that you want, but until

upload code to Github without the mirrors.

This is a great idea, but only if enough maintainers cooperate with it.
Otherwise, the Gnome officially using GitHub message is stronger than

have READMEs of the common kind.

Then what about MediaGoblin?
Anyway, there's a chance Diaspora develops a public API if you talk to
them and explain they're going to have a desktop plugin in GNOME. I'm
sure they'll be happy. So the only question is whether someone wants to
develop a plugin once Diaspora has the API.

Hello,
This question is quite general but I'd like to know how things in GNOME
were designed, in addition to any general advice you have.
Assume a GUI application uses a central data backend, e.g. Tracker.
Currently Tracker is a single central storage service, i.e. one daemon

Hello,
I'm writing some helper scripts to make working with source code
repositories a bit easier and have a uniform interface. For example,
assume a program called srchelper which allows you to 'cd' into a
repository after a git clone, and create a new empty GObject/C++/Python
class like this:

I'm using GNU/Linux with an RTL locale - Hebrew - and I've been using

in reverse too. Hebrew text in ncurses programs is reversed too. Very
