An alternative is to play audio with mplayer, and to give it real time
priority like:
# priocntl -s -c RT -i pid `pgrep mplayer`
I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to give a gui application like
rhythmbox real time priority.

Hi,
You can always build the latest emacs from subversion. I cobbled
together the spec file below for that from the SFEemacs-xft.spec.
The differences are:
(1) Checkout and tar up the latest cvs emacs yourself:
To checkout emacs:

Hi Ghee,
Damien uploaded it for me on Jun 4th:

you want me to upload it somewhere.

It was corrupt when I tried to download it earlier as well, I notice

Hi,,
I was wondering if anyone knows where the source code is
for songbird? Compiling it from SFE fails, I look around
on the site and I can not find this file? The file name
does not include sun or or solaris or anything, yet it
was in a sun directory.

Hello shao xuan,
That is great that glx works. However I do not
know how to make compiz work, sorry, hopefully someone
else knows how to (I compiled compiz on my
solaris 10u5 box, all the window title bars disappear
if I enable compiz).

Hello dick,
Well, fine, you can install the tar file instead
of the package, and install it wherever you like.
When I downloaded it for Solaris X86 its called:

Hi,
I waited hours in case it took took time to propagate?
It still does not let me download the file though.
Would be really neat to be able to build JDS
using nimbus.
This is the build download command that fails to download
it for me, been trying for hours.

When building SFE packages on Solaris 10u4 x86 sometimes
pkgtool may fail to apply the package due to some attribute change,
like in the example below. Then I just pkgadd it manually.

Hello Sergio,
When linking executables and shared libraries, the build will be passing:
-L directory
to the linker to say where to find the libraries. It might be less
confusing to pass -R directory for Solaris ld or -rpath directory
for gnu ld for every -L directory to try to hard code the lib
Hello Sergio,
You could try running ldd on each of the plugin shared libraries, like:
/usr/pkg/lib/csound/plugins/libampmidid.so
etc.
The LD_DEBUG=files should continue to produce output while it is
trying to load the plugins. So if one is missing a symbol it will complain,
we would need to see
Hello Sergio,
I haven't tried to build Csound. To try to figure out why it can't open its

And to try running Csound with the ld.so.1 LD_DEBUG environment variable
(described in man ld.so.1):
export LD_DEBUG=files

Maybe you could alter the spec file to use the compiler options to generate
machine
code your CPU understands:
/jds/spec-files/SUNWgnome-meeting.spec
And build it. It works on snv_66 vermillion b68 on an Opteron box.
