bind our switch workspace up key? You may try this:

I'm seeing this bug multiple times a day these days. Using gnome-session
with xmonad, and sakura as my terminal. Seems to happen sometimes when I
switch workspaces, and sometimes when I lock/unlock the screen.

But I can produce the stale greeter. I followed
test-switch-to-greeter-return-session.
With lightdm --version: lightdm 1.5.1

Having similar issues in 12.10. Everything is frozen for a few seconds
and after that Ubuntu wants to send a bug report. dmesg shows hangcheck
timer for i915 elapsed.

This just happened to me after rebooting. The dialog asks me to change
/home/trusktr to /home/trusktr/Templates.
Before reboot, I had deleted the Templates folder because it was empty.
I guess it noticed, and I proceeded with it's suggestion, which re-
created the Templates folder. You will
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

I've also just installed the 3.5.0-25 kernel with sudo apt-get install
linux-image-3.5.0-25-generic linux-headers-3.5.0-25-generic. I've just
tested a bit with the 3.5.0-25 kernel and the GPU crashes seem to have
stopped

OK, I can now reproduce the bug you're seeing. Note that is is a
different case to the test-switch-to-greeter-return-session regression
test - that test uses the SwitchToGreeter D-Bus API, in your case you
are using the Session.Lock API. The (new) regression test that exercises
