I just tested this using the latest versions of 4.1 and 4.2 (and
master), and this no longer happens.
To verify, you need to hit F9 after loading the submitted document
because the formula results are initially cached. Once the cells get
recalculated, the reported problem no longer happens.

It's still not a bug, just a difference between what newer Linux users
may expect and normal Ubuntu behavior.
When I posted in 2011 I was still new to using Linux on a system with
multiple hard drives, though I had used it for longer on a single-drive

It is fairly annoying. In reference to #4, a WORKAROUND is once logged
in to connect to your WiFi connection (i.e. eduroam). Then click on the
network icon in the top panel, select Edit Connections and change
settings for your connection (i.e. eduroam). Go to the General tab, and

stopped rebuilding pdf figure files (I'm using PDFLaTeX) when the
associated .tikz source file has been changed. Indeed, the

Side note: When i boot in recovery mode and choose "resume normal boot"
without doing anything else in the recovery console, i get the normal

I have the same problem with applications based on the Fox-toolkit
(latest snapshot) like the Adie and Fxite text editors: impossible to
enter any text with the keyboard, problem solved with "ibus exit".
