I also have this hardware (Samsung XE700T1C-X01AU), and am determined to

following your link I understood that is a matter of pins, connections and
hda_codec.c. and that is a common issue for the hda driver to don't reach
speakers or headphones but I don't understand what to do next? should I send
you my hda-verb output? with which parameters? into my

I was upgrading from 12.04 to 14.04, I'm not sure why texlive-base
failed to update (I've removed it to try to recover the update process).
I had it installed on 12.04 but probably just through a package build
dependency.

Right, it seems that the broken debian/libav-tools.maintscript still
made it into the trusty security branch.
Ubuntu security sponsors, does the patch of the linked branch qualify
for an update in trusty-security? I see three options:
a) drop it, leave this bug open
b) upload it to

IMHO the flickering is caused by using 2 graphic cards for the unity
desktop and not by connecting a 3rd Monitor. (seems to be consistant
with previous posts )
I'm able to turn the flickering on / off by enabling / disabling my
4th monitor which is connected to my second Radeon HD 6450
