i use xterm daily, it freezes maybe a couple times per week. i
typically run tmux, so i can just open another xterm, reattach my tmux
session, and discard the frozen xterm. wasn't happening in releases
prior to trusty.

I haven't tried it myself, but qpdf has few dependencies, and the ones
it has are pretty stable, and qpdf itself is binary compatible between
5.1.1 and 5.1.2. My guess is that you if grabbed the libqpdf13 package
from Vivid and tried installing it in trusty, it would most likely work
fine.

Fresh install of Ubuntu 14.10. It worked at first, but suddenly the chat
notifications from Empathy are shown in a seperate windows named
telepathy-indicator-service. The usual notifications are still shown,
though.

Hi Pierre. Unfortunately I don't know what is going on here. The only
thing I can think of is that maybe some dev packages are missing,
although this is not how I would expect that kind of failure to look.
What I can say is that the code your compiler is complaining about was
not something I change
I have the same problem. Can create/delet file from terminal. But
operations from nautilus fails wit "destination read only error". The
other interesting thing is the same usb drive used to work fine with
nautilus till before I made a bootable disk on the usb device using dd.

Starts with nautilus & a terminal open, focus on terminal. Switching to ws2 &
clicking on nautilus icon returns view to ws1 with nautilus on top but focus
remains on terminal.

After attempting to work around this in ubuntu-system-settings, I don't
think it's possible. The problem seems to be upower pushing dbus-
daemon's load high enough that slows down or blocks dbus calls.

I can see this issue is still alive. So I'm one more person that is
affected. I use Kubuntu 14.04 with KDE 4.13.3; Qt 4.8.6. libgtk is also
installed. And it does the same as it was described in the beginning:
