Thank you very much. I think it's been listed against LightDM on the Ubuntu bug
site since (near) the beginning. So it's just that it hasn't caught their

Temporary fix until bug is solved:
Removing the Recent Documents from the File Menu temporarily fixes
this issue so you don't have to clear the menu all the time. This is
obviously not a real fix, but it gets people back to work:
Tools Customize
Choose Menu File
Select Recent Documents and
Patch ready for review.

If i deactivate and reactivate the Sierra EM7345 inside the bios and
reboot to ubuntu 15.04 beta2 with current updates, the card is working
again.
So it might be a problem with the power settings/handling by the sierra
card?!
