penalvch, I didn't submit it to the upstream because it seems the
workaround is relevant only for versions ≤1.22[1]. I've attached that
patch to keep anyone whom it may concern informed. If someone is using
that old version, he/she can recompile the daemon oneself.

I don't know if this is supposed to be a private symbol or not, but it
gets pulled in when using the protected constructor of QQmlPropertyMap
as documented [1].
I don't think there's anything we can change in gsettings-qt to solve
this issue.

I have the same problem on a Lenovo Thinkpad T420. Since upgrading from
12.04 to 14.04 the volume keys - in my case dedicated keys - responds
with a huge (several seconds) delay. This is not always the case. It
looks like the process handling those events gets blocked somehow.
