After the recent update, I can confirm that bumblee broke for me as
well. I had the same plymouth goes to black screen problem.
As a shot in the dark *(and me not trusting my installation), I removed
bbswitch and all nvidia related packages, and then installed nvidia-346.

Just to keep this alive and to add a new data point, I upgraded to the
3.19.0-21 kernel and after 6 days polkitd has grown to 1.4+G memory
usage. I don't think the kernel version has anything to do with the
problem. On the plus side, my WIFI connection has stabilized since the
upgrade.

I was hesitant to install the daily build again since I felt I was being
run around in circles. An acquaintance has pointed out that doing it
would server a useful purpose.
So I have completed that task. Once again I was unable to reproduce the
issue with a live-usb containing the daily build.
I had the same problem with a clean 14.04 installation. However, I
changed my drivers from the open source (xserver-xorg-video-ati) to the
propietary driver (fglrx-updates), and the hot corners seem to work
everytime I reboot. I have a HD Radeon 7670M graphics card.

This happens to me too on a 2015 Lenovo X1 Carbon, up-to-date vivid.
When it happens (usually after resuming from a suspend, but sometimes
during normal usage) the trackpoint, trackpad and touchscreen all still
work and UI elements highlight when the cursor is over them, but the
cursor itself is
I've been running into this bug for months on a new notebook. At random
times during my session, it changes the keyboard layout and I have to
manually reset it.
I tried installing debian/testing on the same notebook, using a minimal
install, then added Xorg and sawfish. No ibus packages, no
