I don't think the jack is a multifuntion one, but even if it is,
plugging the external microphone in or out doesn't change anything. The
computer has a separate headphone/SPDIF jack next to the microphone
input.

It didn't work with linux and i dont need it, so i disabled it...
So far so good, i dont have freezes yet, have 8 days uptime and probably more

All my music is available over a uPnP server to any machine on my
network. Banshee can see and play the music from a remote laptop just
fine. However, when I try to drag and drop the music onto a portable
player connected via USB, the operation doesn't seem to complete.
I think my problem is related to Kubuntu 15.10 64bit. I have installed
Kubuntu 15.10 32bit in another partition and midi works very well.
The problem would appear to be a 64bit incompatibility somewhere.
