It seems that using the proprietary drivers from Nvidia resolves the
issue. I switched to the proprietary drivers since december 7th and
haven't had a crash since. Even using Firefox full time which previously
crashed my system within the hour.

I was surprised to experience a freeze while running Android_x86 4.4-rc3
on my 2 in 1 laptop. After digging a bit - I found that the android_x86
runs on a custom linux-4.0.8. There wasn't a cstate argument in the
command line. Too soon to know if it will help, but I no longer get the

I tried all ubuntu 14.04 LTS kernels from 3.13 over 3.16, 3.19 to 4.2
and got freezes with all of them except for 3.13. All which produced
freezes have been tried with all mentioned kernel parameters and
verified it with cat /proc/cmdline. Kernel 4.2 + intel_idle.max_cstate=1
froze within 1 day.

problems in skype. However one minor corruption occurs in IntelliJ IDEA

xorg.conf overwritten by booting
I have booted to a different linux and used gparted to check the drive, it
shows no errors, I see a difference in version listed in this error report,
I am in fact running 16.04alpha everything is working and I do not have any
other errors except when it tries to update archive manager. Is there a

days.]

If #1380638 really is a duplicate of this bug, it's definitely still
active. unity-settings-daemon not only crashes, but fails to relaunch
from terminal unless I log out and log back in, making it not just
frustrating, but extremely time consuming.

The width of columns in Nautilus appears to be averaged across all columns such
that all columns display as much as possible.
The consequence of this is that long names in the location-column will cause
the name in the name-column to be truncated.
The problem with this is
I downloaded the previous package and installed it with 'dpkg -i'. It
leaves apt in broken state but keeps things working.
Later, when this is solved, I will fix apt with "apt-get install -f" and
continue upgrading
