Gunnar; I have an iMac with 18.04 desktop, and an old HP LapTop still
with 17.10 desktop (will be updraded to 18.04 soon). 18.04 and 17.10
behave differently upon insertion of a writable CD/DVD, but neither
behave as per the web page.

I couldn't find any way to burn using nautilus. Installed brasero to do

When turn off the screen or suspend, and resume the system is logged
out, this mostly happens with nvidia driver (390 or 396). I noticed that
when close the lid and reopen the system is still working and all
I don't know if upgrading via the ppa actually solved the random crash
problem, but I never had any crash after the upgrade. There could be other
reasons including gnome upgrades. But AT LEAST upgrading via the ppa did
not cause any negative effects. Thus, I suggest applying the
ibus-libpinyin
had the same problem. Like Michael wrote
/usr/bin/cdrdao - set to 4711, /usr/bin/wodim to4711 and /usr/bin/growisofs
0755 made it work
cd /usr/bin
sudo chmod -v 4711 cdrdao
udo chmod -v 4711 wodim
sudo chmod -v 0755 growisofs
