Every time the Bluetooth mouse connects, the Natural Scrolling is
ineffective.
Settings shows it "Enabled" but it scrolls in the "not Natural"
direction.
Disabling and re-enabling the setting temporarily restores the
direction, but it only lasts until
Version 42.3 did fix an error with scheduled backups to encrypted
drives! I suspect that might be what you're hitting? Can you try the
snap and see if that fixes things? Might want to make a manual backup
first just to confirm everything is working.

Suffered the same issue, with broken behaviour on external USB keyboard
but normal behaviour on laptop's internal keyboard. Workaround was to
remove the French keyboard layout and reinstall it. So far so good.
