It looks like this is probably a bug in the nouveau graphics driver, and
most likely the HDMI port is connected to your Nvidia GPU. The nouveau
driver is also logging errors which may or may not be related to this

The printer has firmware 20111021. The newest available firmware is

The upstream issue was closed on 2021-06-18 as "RESOLVED OBSOLETE"
with no action being taken for over 10 years.
Any fixes to this issue should be made upstream so not an issue

middle. It is USB and shows the same issue.
When the mouse gets laggy the Alt-Tab switcher also will not come up or
