when I watch a video in fullscreen, my laptop can draw as many as 25w.
For comparaison, on windows 11, a similar video will take only 8w from
the battery. obviously, the cpu temps and fan speed are much higher on

On wayland I see no difference; everything works as expected. Also with
a fresh lunar install in VirtualBox.
But my observations on Xorg with my regular install was
widevine isn't supplied with the chromium deb on linux amd64. you are
misinterpreting what the flag does. if bundled is not set, then you hit this
case always and widevine is never checked
