This issue is present in 20.04. I'm mainly seeing it in CodeLite
(probably because that is where I spend all my time), but one
interesting thing is that it also affects VMs (Ubuntu 18.04) running in
Boxes with shared copy paste.

I no longer have this issue in 16.04. But instead of creating a file it create
a .desktop file that points to the actual imap address for the email. This is
fairly useless.

The only way to fix it is to switch away from X.org, Mir is in the works
so you could say that they are working on fixing it.

I can usually reboot by blindly pressing ctrl+alt+f1 ctrl+alt+del
ctrl+alt+del sot it is not frozen, but no console
Ups, for got to mention this was on a eMac with a Radeon 9200

Drag and drop from Dash to Desktop
It's an inherent issue with the X11 (X.org) design. It has been looked
into by a few big developers but solving it is lose to imposible. The
solution will be switching to Wayland instead of X.org, somthing that
likly will happen in the not to fare away future.

Log in to the desktop of your admin.
Press the name in the upper right and pick Guest Session.
Press ctrl+alt+f7
The guest user is not back on the admins desktop with out being prompted
for a password.
